Liechtensteinische Landesbank AG has officially inaugurated its new Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) office after being granted a license to operate as a financial advisory earlier this year.
Standing to strengthen its presence in the Middle East, Liechtensteinische Landesbank has a rich 158-year history and a solid ownership with the Principality of Liechtenstein as the main shareholder. The bank has been present in the region since 2005 with representative offices in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
Liechtensteinische Landesbank has seen exponential growth over the years, leading it to seek business branch status and prompting relocation to DIFC. The move will allow for offering of enhanced services both to existing and prospect clients across the GCC. The bank inaugurated its new Burj Daman premises on November 12, 2019 in the presence of Georg Wohlwend, chairman of the Board of Directors; Roland Matt, group CEO of Liechtensteinische Landesbank; Dr. Gabriel Brenna, member of the Board of Management and head of the Private Banking Division; and Ludovic Pernot, head of Private Banking Middle East and senior executive officer of the new DIFC branch.
"The move to DIFC, and our new, larger offices in Burj Daman reflect the successful development of our business model in recent years and represents an important step for our future growth in the Middle East. By taking this step, we are increasing Liechtensteinische Landesbank's visibility and attractiveness for clients and employees; it also enables us to continue with expansion of our services and activities," said Dr. Brenna of the relocation.
Pernot added: "Our presence in DIFC is a new milestone in the bank's history and highlights the success of our predecessors, management and our entire team. The new premises will allow Liechtensteinische Landesbank to better pursue development efforts in the GCC and across the wider Middle East, and offers a comfortable, state-of-the-art base from which to service our clients."
