Ingram Micro on Sunday launched its Experience Zone, which showcases numerous Artificial Intelligence (AI) driven Computer Vision and Internet of Things (IoT) use cases, including applications for medicine, building, transport, security, and smart cities.
The Experience Zone, part of Ingram Micro's regional headquarters located in the Innovation hub at Dubai Internet City, was inaugurated by Omar Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence. Other executives in attendance included Alain Monie, CEO of Ingram Micro; Dr. Ali Baghdadi, senior vice president and chief executive, Meta region, at Ingram Micro; and Ammar Al Malik, managing director at Dubai Internet City.
Visitors to the Experience Zone can interact with the latest development in AI, including learning more about face recognition, object detection, emotion, gender, age estimation and many others. Ingram Micro and its vendor partners are making it possible for resellers, customers and students to touch and experience the latest technology in the easiest way, helping them understand how they can use and deploy the latest in AI. In addition, the Experience Zone's training center is hosting the Ingram Micro AI and Cyber Security Academies. The company expects about 9,000 visitors per year to the zone. The AI use cases at the new Experience Zone will be continuously updated to keep pace with innovation.
"AI is one of the most rapidly growing uses of technology today and our teams have been working diligently to provide an interactive experience where visitors can learn more about how these exciting technologies can benefit their lives and their businesses," said Alain Monie.
"Our strategic plan is to support UAE leaders in their AI Strategy 2031 and their long-term vision of making the UAE the first in the field of AI investment and the creation of a new vital AI market with high economic impact. One of the key objectives Ingram Micro is to be an active contributor to building a strong AI community that attracts young talent and offers unlimited possibilities in AI education and development of innovative AI solutions," added Dr. Ali Baghdadi.
