GB Equipment Solutions was appointed the distributor of India's leading tyre manufacturer BKT in the UAE last Monday.
Rajiv Poddar, Joint Managing Director, BKT; Mohamed Yahya Kazi Meeran, Director and Group CEO of Galadari Brothers; Mazen Abdul Baki, General Manager; Raman Krishnamurthy, Section Head, Tyres; and Mohammed Gawad, National Parts Manager from GB Equipment Solutions, attended the agreement signing ceremony during the 17th edition of Automechanika Dubai.
Poddar was quite sanguine about the growth prospects of the partnership as both the companies enjoy strong synergies.
"GB Equipment Solutions has a very loyal base of customers that money cannot buy because these are relationships they have built over the years. Similarly, if you go into our space of tyre manufacturing, people talk highly of BKT," he said.
Headquartered in Mumbai, BKT has been in the tyre manufacturing business for the last 30 years with a key focus on off-highway tyres. The company participated in Automechanika Dubai, which concluded on Wednesday.
"The UAE has a growing infrastructure, be it its road networks, its airports, its metro or its real estate, offering good growth prospects for this partnership," said Poddar.
"GB Equipment Solutions has excellent market coverage when it comes to selling attachments, battery, oil and parts. We also enjoy wonderful relationships with our customers and BKT is a brand we shall be proudly presenting to them. This deal has great potential for growth," Mazen Abdul Baki of GB Equipment Solutions said during the agreement signing ceremony.

The growing construction sector in the UAE is creating an increased demand for high quality tyres, such as BKT," Baki added.
