The Purchasing Section of the Contracts and Purchasing Department at the Dubai Municipality is offering a range of privileges to companies owned by people of determination who are UAE nationals.
The privileges will be provided to those who possess the People of Determination Card, issued by the Ministry of Community Development, or the Sanad Card, issued by the Community Development Authority in Dubai.
The move is in line with the "My Community is a Place for All" initiative, launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, which aims to make Dubai a friendly city for people of determination and implement the directives of Eng. Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director-General of the Dubai Municipality.
Eng. Mohammed Al Zaffin, Director of the Contracts and Purchasing Department at the Dubai Municipality, stated that these privileges include prioritising people of determination who are UAE nationals with a bid price difference of 5 per cent, exempting them from registration and renewal fees for suppliers, prioritising their purchase orders for less than Dh10,000, and facilitating the submission of the bank cheques of the company instead of primary bank guarantees, if it is not possible to produce a guarantee from the bank.

He added that the privileges also include providing them exclusive offers, prioritising the disbursement of financial payments to their companies, and accepting the receipt of documents by e-mail, without being present at the office, to facilitate and implement relevant procedures.
Al Zaffin stressed that these privileges are part of the social commitment of the municipality, to support and empower people of determination and appreciate their efforts and potential.
"The municipality attaches significant importance to people of determination and is keen to establish and launch initiatives to support them," he said.
The Dubai Municipality was awarded the Best Government Organisation in the UAE for Business Leadership Support, for supporting small- and medium-sized enterprises, through the Mohammed bin Rashid Award for Young Business Leaders 2018.
