Demand for school transport is on the rise as the market needs more quality operators in Dubai to cater to people's needs.

The number of school buses registered in Dubai is 6,500 and the figure is likely to go up. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), Dubai, estimates that 7,628 buses would be required by the year 2020 and 14,455 by 2030.

Dubai's school transport witnessed a rapid growth where school transport trips exceeded 81,000 per hour in 2016 and are set to reach 115,000 trips per hour by 2020 and 176,000 trips per hour by 2030, according to the RTA.

"We see an enormous potential in school bus transport business and that's the reason we established Gulf Pinnacle Transport last year with a team of experienced professionals and a new fleet of buses after an in-depth study of the school bus transportation industry in the Emirates," said Shailesh Dash, chairman of Gulf Pinnacle Logistics - the parent company of Gulf Pinnacle Transport (GPT).

Gulf Pinnacle Transport has posted significant growth in its first year of operations and serves 12 schools across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.

"Safety of children is our top priority and we safely transport nearly 6,000 students every day," Ganesh Sivaraman, senior vice-president, GPT, said.
