Indians, Pakistanis own most restaurants and cafes in Dubai

There are over 6,802 restaurants and cafes in Dubai to cater the emirate's 3 million residents and millions of visitors.
On average, each eatery caters 441 residents of the emirate. Plus, millions of tourists also visit these eateries annually.
According to Dubai's Department of Economic Development, Indians, Pakistanis and Egyptians own the highest number of restaurants in the emirate.
They are followed by British, Lebanese, Kuwaitis, Jordanians, Americans, Saudis and Syrians.
The restaurant and coffee shop sectors have grown rapidly in Dubai, especially in the large and highly competitive areas throughout the emirate. Nearly one-third - 2,265 - of these restaurants are located in six areas led by the New Dubai, Burj Khalifa and Al Karama areas. New Dubai houses 646 restaurants and cafes, followed by Burj Khalifa (433), Al Karama (274), Ayal Nasser (258), Al Barsha 1 (246), Jumeirah 1 (246) and Al Muraqabat (162).
UAE residents on average spend between Dh50 and Dh150 on dining out, with lunch and dinners the most frequent, according to a report by KPMG.
