Kuwait to spend $40b on energy projects

KUWAIT - Kuwait plans to spend $40 billion on mega projects in the next two decades to upgrade the key oil sector of the Gulf Arab state, Energy Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al Fahd Al Sabah said in remarks published yesterday.

“It is expected that $40 billion will be spent during the coming 20 years on giant projects,” he told al-Masaref (Banks) monthly magazine in an interview. “It provides big opportunities for the private sector to win lucrative contracts to implement these projects.”
