Hyundae said: "The rise in global share is mainly attributed to introduction of new products in printing technology. Besides markets in Europe, South Asia and South America it has been observed on global scale that Middle East is the potentially growing region and our market share in Middle East is expected to move up from the existing 10 per cent. The company believes that the marketing strategy is based on sensing, solutions and speed. The company's headquaters are recognising Middle East as an important business destination and hence the focus is now more on Middle East."

The company is now synonymous with a wide range of print related products. Samsung's range now includes laser printers, which account for 50 per cent of product portfolio, inkjet printers, multifunctional printers (laser and inkjet) and the recently launched colour laser printer which is expected to be in great demand during 2004, added Hyundae. It may be recalled that recently Samsung launched the world’s first USB-enabled Multifunction-device in Dubai.

The company introduced world’s smallest MFD in Middle east; new digital printing solutions aimed to increase productivity at work.

The world’s first USB-enabled MFD (multifunction device), SCX-4720F, capable of directly scanning to and printing from a USB memory stick. With the launch of the new Samsung MFD, a user can do without computers or monitors to store certain types of scanned images or print certain documents directly using a USB memory stick.

K. S. Vasudevan, senior manager, Digital Information Technology division, Samsung Gulf Electronics, said: "Samsung’s ability to own the design, development and manufacturing processes has enabled the company to offer customer-oriented features and technologies. As a result, Samsung’s laser technology has been acknowledged to be the best worldwide last year, and we have been positioned as a market leader in laser printer market.
