The first phase of the project is underway as per the schedule. Contracts for all the major works have been awarded and negotiations are in the final stage with over 160 brands from across the world for their presence in the prestigious mall.

The proposed hypermarket, which is being specially designed, the anchor store of the mall, is slated to be the biggest in the UAE.

Lt. General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chief of Staff of UAE Armed Forces on Monday evening visited the site to unveil the Logo of the Mall marking the inauguration of the work.

He appreciated the project after viewing the Architect’s Model of the proposed Khalidiyah Mall. Located in the up-scale district of Khalidiyah, the Khalidiyah Mall will spread across one million square ft. of modern shopping ambience, and encompasses every facility one would expect in an upscale shopping centre anywhere in the world. The highlights of the mall will be an imposing atrium with fountains, relaxation seating and cafes, multiplex with six ultra modern cinemas, a large food court with the biggest roof garden and a futuristic amusement arcade. "Khalidiyah Mall reflects our commitment to provide most modern and sophisticated shopping avenues to residents as well as the visitors of Abu Dhabi." Yousaf Ali MA said.
