The work will see the development of core elements of the infrastructure on site at Jumeirah Golf Estates.
Ascon Road Construction, the Dubai-based building company, will undertake a 15-month contract to supply all underground piping work for foul water drainage, potable water and fire and irrigation systems. The contract is worth an estimated Dh188 million.
A 15-month contract has been awarded to Al Buraq Contracting for low and medium voltage supply, street lighting and telecoms, valued at approximately Dh174 million.
Hennessey LLC Construction has been contracted to design and build the Agronomy Centre. The company has previously worked on design and build for five star hotels in Dubai. The contract is valued at Dh13million.
David Spencer, Chief Executive of Jumeirah Golf Estates said:
"It has been a really busy summer for us and the onsite team here at Jumeirah Golf Estates. The courses have started to take shape, with the first grass being laid around the bunkers. It is an important step to finalise this series of building contracts for phase A of the development."
Jumeirah Golf Estates has also recently issued and received the first set of tenders for the construction of the Norman Clubhouse and Whispering Pines villas, and these will be awarded in the coming few weeks
Both construction contracts for the Fireside and Flame Tree Ridge community villas have been tendered and the construction of these is shall commence before year end.
Jumeirah Golf Estates Fire and Earth courses are scheduled to open in 2008.
