Jordan seeks closer trade cooperation with Kuwait

AMMAN — Kuwaiti and Jordanian businessmen are expected to sign a cooperation protocol here next September, Chairman of the Jordanian Chamber of Commerce Haidar Murad announced on Wednesday.

In remarks following talks here today with Jordan’s Ambassador in Kuwait Jumaa Abadi, Murad said the agreement is expected to set up a joint business council between the two countries that would meet twice a year to help boost economic cooperation between Jordan and Kuwait.

He said talks during the meeting with Abadi focused on means to bring success to a visit of Kuwaiti businessmen to Amman next September during which the agreement is expected to be concluded. Abadi is expected to coordinate the visit with Chairman of the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry Ali Al Ghanim, Murad went on.

He said al Ghanim would lead a delegation of prominent Kuwaiti businessmen to explore investment opportunities in Jordan.
