“I can say the discussion with the government is going well. As a company we are optimistic about our strategy and our future,” Laurent Mialet, CEO of Jordan Telecom, who is seconded by France Telecom which runs the firm under a management deal, told Reuters.

France Telecom officials in Paris were not immediately available for comment on progress in over a year of talks to get another 11 percent stake beyond its 40 per cent share in the company, essential to give it majority shareholding.
