Jewellery & watch show begins in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI - The Abu Dhabi International Jewellery & Watch Show (Adijex 2004) opened here yesterday at the International Exhibition Centre with over 223 local and international companies showcasing their 2005 collection of watches and jewellery.

Adijex was inaugurated by Shaikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Executive Council Member-Chairman of the economic department.

This year the show has attracted companies from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Lebanon, Switzerland, Germany, France, Italy, India, Brazil, Hong Kong, Turkey, Singapore, USA & UK.

There are also national pavilions from India, Hongkong, Lebanon and Bahrain displaying their ingenious craftsmanship and unique designs.

There is also a strong local presence at the exhibition with some of the leading jewellers like Salem Al-Shaibi jewellery, Al Manara Jewellery, Al Fardan, Al Masood displaying their latest collections of watches and jewellery.

Mohammed Rasool Khoory is organising a pearl festival during the show, which will include one of the most expensive pearl necklaces in the world.
