Saudi Arabia is the largest market in the Gulf for medical equipment and healthcare products.

The kingdom's burgeoning population is forecast to rise from the present 26 million to 47 million by 2020, and its citizens increasing affluence, which is expected to exacerbate related illnesses such as obesity, diabetes etc, will help to maintain a steady continual growth and tremendous new potential in the future in all sectors of healthcare.

SHASH will encompass every aspect of the health industry, including medical, insurance, dental, pharmaceutical, labware and hospital infrastructure and supplies, according to information made available to Khaleej Times here.

Running concurrently with the exhibition will be a series of symposia that each year attract speakers from both within the Kingdom and abroad covering topical subjects particularly pertinent to the Saudi Arabia.

The last edition of SHASH was held under the patronage of the Saudi Ministry of Health and organised by Al Harithy Company for Exhibitions. There were more than 200 stands displaying a range of goods and services.
