Isaca seminar will focus on IT governance

DUBAI — The UAE Chapter of Isaca, a global organisation for information governance, control, security and audit professionals, is organising a meeting of chief executives and senior professionals to spread the awareness about IT governance in the industry at 6.30 pm on Wednesday at Al Bustan Rotana Hotel, Dubai.

The event — Information Governance Forum — organised every six months, seeks to help the industry benefit from best practices in IT governance and to create highly effective IT organisation, said Saji P. Oommen, President of Isaca UAE Chapter.

Isaca has more than 170 chapters established in over 60 countries worldwide.

"We have witnessed phenomenal growth in our membership in recent years and our leadership team is committed to support our member community with their ever-changing requirements in IT governance,” he said.

Dr. Nasser Saidi, Executive Director, Institute for Corporate Governance and Chief Economist of Dubai International Financial Centre, will deliver the keynote address on “Governance Challenges in Information Economies.”

In the three decades since its inception, Isaca's (earlier known as Information Systems Audit and Control Association) IS auditing and IS control standards are followed by practitioners worldwide. Its Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification is recognized globally and has been earned by more than 44,000 professionals since inception.

It hosts a series of international conferences focusing on both technical and managerial topics pertinent to the IS assurance, control, security and IT governance professions. Control Objectives for Information and related Technology (COBIT) published by Isaca has been widely accepted as an IT Governance Framework.

Today, Isaca's membership-more than 50,000 strong worldwide is characterised by its diversity. Members live and work in more than 140 countries and cover a variety of professional IT-related positions.
