Intex unveils dual SIM 
card mobiles

DUBAI — Intex Technologies of India, a leader in IT hardware and electronics, has launched three models of its dual SIM card mobile phone in Dubai.

The Dubai launch marks the brand’s foray into the GCC market, where Intex Technologies expects to tap the growing demand for dual SIM card mobiles, said Sanjay Bansal, managing director of Intex Technologies.

The new line-up aims at catering to upper middle, middle lower and lower segments. These 6633 Enterprise model, 4470 mid level and 2010 entry-level models. Intex offers a one-year warranty to all models and is extended to more than 350 service centers across India and 15 other service centers internationally. The whole range is currently available with all Sharaf DG outlets as well as in Abu Dhabi duty Free, M2 store in Safeer and with Ansar malls.

The UAE’s mobile phone market is forecast to grow at seven per cent annually valued at Dh1.4 billion by 2014, Bansal said.

The New Delhi based Intex plans to invest Dh 5 million in 2010-11 in developing a distribution network and in brand building exercises in the GCC, he said. The company currently has offices in China, Hong Kong, Australia, South Africa, Nigeria, in addition to India and UAE. It has plans to open offices in Ethiopia, Russia and Saudi Arabia in 2011. —issacjohn@khaleejtimes.com
