InterContinental Group Opens Crowne Plaza Sohar in Oman

DUBAI - InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) along with SAMCO Hotels & Resorts officially opened Crowne Plaza Sohar.



The opening marks IHG’s third Crowne Plaza property in Oman, as they continue to expand in the Sultanate. John Bamsey, Chief Operating Officer, IHG MEA said: Oman has done a remarkable job by promoting tourism.

In recent years, Oman has consistently hosted over 1 million tourists every year and has positioned itself as the ideal tourist destination.

Business tourism has been gradually building momentum especially in the MICE sector which accounts for more then 60 per cent of business travel in the Sultanate.” IHG also recently signed the Crowne Plaza Duqum Resort, scheduled to open in 2011.
