J.K. Basu, executive vice-president of IndusInd Bank, told this correspondent yesterday that the bank was also planning a rep office in London. "The Dubai office will open once we get all the necessary clearances from the authorities," said Basu.

The bank, which has a significant Gulf NRI deposit base, wants to increase its exposure in the UAE and other neighbouring markets, he added.

IndusInd Bank, which is among the new private sector banks set up after India opened its banking sector a few years ago, has emerged as a leading player in the Gulf NRI segment. The bank has also been investing a lot in new technology, to provide state-of-the-art services to its customers.

The bank is participating in the on-going NRI Money Show - being presented by Khaleej Times - in Dubai. According to Basu, it is participating in the show to enhance its presence and profile in the market.
