The meet was organised to promote and increase Indonesian exports in the region. "The exhibition is a great success with many exhibitors taking trial orders. We hope to increase next year's participation and bring in more companies to source business from the Middle East," said Diah Maulida, Chairperson of National Agency for Export Development (NAFED).

The exhibition is organised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Indonesia in association with NAFED, which has now the Middle East as a potential market diversifying its trade away from its traditional markets of the United States, Europe and Japan.

"We have received a tremendous response from visitors which has prompted us to host the show next year making it bigger and better to cater to the visitors needs," Maulida added.

Meanwhile visitors also hailed the exhibition as a very good initiative by Expo Centre Sharjah with many placing orders and some making contacts with new suppliers. "The market here is very competitive and we are always looking for new suppliers. I've just met with some companies and have signed initial test orders and am convinced the products will do well," said Abammed Saleem Sales Manager at UB Emirates LLC stockists for electrical products and lighting fixtures from the UAE.

Saudi visitor Dhafir A. Al-Mansour owner of Al-Mansour Trading Est. in Dammam, dealing in auto spare parts said, "I've met with a few spare parts manufacturers and we've liked the products but deals will only be confirmed over the next couple of months after further negotiations."
