Huawei to set up DIC HQ

Dubai - The long-term investment for the new headquarters will serve as a platform to drive the UAE's digitisation agenda and build upon Dubai's knowledge economy, as well as support the emirate's vision to become an innovation-led economy and a smart city.

 In a bid to further expand and deploy its global technology expertise to support the strategic vision of the UAE, Huawei has partnered with Dubai Internet City to set up its national headquarters within the region's largest ICT and technology community.
The signing ceremony was held in the presence of Mohammed Al Gergawi, UAE Minister of Cabinet Affairs of the Federal Government of the UAE, Dr Amina Al Rustamani, Group CEO of Tecom Group; Malek Al Malek, CEO of Tecom Business Parks; Majed Al Suwaidi, MD of Dubai Internet City and Dubai Outsource City; Charles Ding, global senior vice president of Huawei Technologies; Charles Yang, Middle East president of Huawei Technologies; and David Wang, CEO of Huawei UAE. The long-term investment for the new headquarters will serve as a platform to drive the UAE's digitisation agenda and build upon Dubai's knowledge economy, as well as support the emirate's vision to become an innovation-led economy and a smart city. Its technological innovation, coupled with its international and local experience, means that Huawei UAE is now well positioned to collaboratively support the local government in its pursuit of innovative solutions to make UAE the smartest country and its people the happiest in the world.
