Hind honoured for her achievements

DUBAI — Shaikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, wife of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, was honoured for her achievements and contribution to Arab women and society at the Emirates Businesswomen Award 2006 ceremony on Sunday.

Shaikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Department of Civil Aviation and Patron of Dubai Quality Group, presented the award to Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who received it on behalf of his mother.

Shaikh Ahmed also presented the Emirates Businesswomen Award 2006 to Nafisa Al Mulla, head and owner of Al Morooj English School, Sharjah and Rania Abdallah, regional human resources manager for the Middle East, Asia and Africa at PepsiCo International, Dubai.

Four criteria winners were also honoured for their respective achievements, including Nafisa Salah Ali Taha, owner of CafÈ de la Paix in Abu Dhabi in 'Recognition for Community" criteria, and Nazek Al Sabbagh, director of Civil Engineering Department at Dubai Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation in the 'Innovation' criteria.

Similarly, Salma Ali Saif bin Hareb, CEO of JAFZA, won the 'Leadership' criteria, while Dr Behjat Al Yousuf, supervisor in IT at the Higher Colleges of Technology in Dubai Women's College was the winner of the 'Career Achievement" criteria.
