HCT and Zawya sign agreement

DUBAI The Higher Colleges of Technology signed an agreement with ABQ Zawya, the leading online information provider for the Mena business and finance community, for its premium service, the Corporate Monitor a comprehensive news and database for regional companies.

The agreement - signed by Dr Suleiman Al Jassim, Director of Community Relations and Manpower Development in HCT and Hani Al Maskali, director of Zawya, will allow HCT"s entire student body to access Zawya"s fully searchable database of over 9,000 regional corporations from over 20 countries in addition to a news search service - represents the first time that the value of the Corporate Monitor as an educational tool has been acknowledged.

Dr Al Jassim said, 'We chose Zawya"s solution because it provides a highly relevant educational tool. The agreement will allow students to access a wide body of local and international business information and to access the Corporate Monitor. Students will also be able to use a very powerful news search engine to source information by country, sector or institution. News coverage is drawn from a prestigious list of over 130 providers. 'Until now, the up-take for this product has been mainly from large scale financial and commercial institutions Ð the likes of Citibank, Arab bank Visa and McKinsey & Co,' notes Zawya"s co-founder and director Hani Al Maskati.
