Hamdan Bin Rashid receives China officials

DUBAI - Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Deputy Ruler and Minister of Finance and Industry, received here yesterday, a visiting Chinese delegation headed by the chairman of the China Maritime Company, who is also chairman of the Chinese Shipowners Association.

The meeting reviewed the economic and commercial ties between the UAE and the People’s Republic of China and the prospects of exploring new avenues of cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the field of marine services, ship building and marine transportation.

The Chinese official expressed his country’s desire to boost cooperation with the UAE, as well as its wish to increase marine trips to Jebel Ali and open a regional office here.

Sheikh Hamdan welcomed the Chinese entrance into the region through the UAE, saying that the economic and commercial open policy adopted by the UAE contributes to a considerable extent to attract international major companies to the country.

The meeting was attended by the Chinese Ambassador Zhang Zhijun and Chinese Consul General Yang Weiguo.
