Gulf oil sector to see $300b investment
ABU DHABI - More than $300 billion is expected to be injected into the Gulf region’s oil sector in the coming 20 years, according to Saeed Al Khori, President of the 11th Abu Dhabi Interational Petroleum Conference (Adipec 2004).
He said this massive investment would enable the region to produce120 million barrels per day compared to 8 million bpd in current year. He said the Adipec exhibition was important to the UAE and the AGCC countries because the region had 480 billion barrels of oil reserves representing 43.5 per cent of the world total.
