Gulf Navigation signs contract with Shell

DUBAI — Gulf Navigation Holding (GNH), the rapidly growing regionally-owned private shipping and marine services company, announced yesterday that it had signed a three-year contract with Shell to time charter 'Gulf Scandic', its 150,000 tonne deadweight Suezmax tanker.

Capable of carrying 1 million barrels of crude oil, the vessel has been chartered to Shell at market related rates to trade worldwide. It will be in service with Shell from July 2006 till June 2009.

This is one of a series of tankers that Gulf Navigation has chartered to various oil majors around the world. With a fleet of 18 tankers and VLCCs (Very Large Crude Carriers), Gulf Navigation Holding is a leading shipping and marine services company in the region.
