‘’The 45 minute extravaganza has been planned for over a year and will involve performances from 736 children from 13 different schools within the emirate of Abu Dhabi,’’ Major General Obaid Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Military Committees and the Official Spokesman for IDEX 2009, said in an official release here.
Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC), the UAE Armed Forces GHQ and Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) are jointly organising the opening show. And they have brought more than 120 experts from around the world to co-ordinate every aspect of the ceremony. “These specialists bring the highest standards of event management, choreography and audio visual experience to produce this unique daytime spectacular,’’ the release said.
“There can be no more fitting use for our redeveloped Grandstand than to once again incorporate it into a military spectacle,” says Ali Saeed Bin Harmel Al Dhaheri, ADNEC Managing Director. IDEX 2009 to be held from February 22 - 26 will be the largest exhibition ever to be staged in the Gulf, using indoor, outdoor and Al Bateen Channel space, at the state-of-the-art Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
Over 900 exhibitors from 50 nations will be represented at the event, which is expected to draw more than 40,000 visitors including government and industry leaders. (With inputs from Wam)
