Govt Technology Summit set to start from Nov 19

ABU DHABI — The Government Technology Summit (GT Summit), will start in Dubai on November 19 to discuss IT management in public sector.

Top decision-makers, and senior government officials representing 12 Arab countries will meet with the leading IT vendors and technology experts at the three-day summit.

The summit will discuss the most persistent issues related to use of technology in the government sector, including: shifting from e-government to information government, IT management in the public sector and 'smart' IT infrastructure in addition to the challenges facing Arab e-government projects.

Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansour, Minister of Governmental Sector Development, will inaugurate the summit and shed light on the main features of the federal government strategy for utilisation of information technology in developing government sector.

Al Mansour will also elaborate on his ministry's plan to chalk out and implement advanced IT systems to enhance performance of ministries and federal departments in a way parallel to the success it achieved in assisting these institutions to shift to e-service.
