GMT Consortium, an Iranian joint venture of General Mechanic Co., Melli Sakhteman Co. and Tossar International Construction Co., has been awarded a contract worth around Dh250million ($70 million) by Nakheel to construct the infrastructure works for Phase 3 of the International City Phases 2&3 project, which is situated just across the Manama Road to the south of Nakheel’s International City Phase 1 Project.
The project includes road works, providing for district cooling, power and communications networks, water distribution, sewerage, fire and irrigation. The work is expected to take 11 months.
Dubai-based Limitless has been employed as development manager for the project. Bovis Lend Lease is the project manager and Arup is the infrastructure design consultant engineer.
