Gitex Shopper opened on Saturday at the Dubai World Trade Centre with discounts, bundle offers and other promotions for the visitors.
Be it a smart TV, smartphone or home appliances, there was something for everyone at the shoppers. The day of the day was none other than Sharaf DG's annual offer of TV+car. It offered 65" Sony Bravia TV with a new BMW 318i for Dh98,999, whereby the buyers can save up to Dh48,500 on the purchase.
In addition, the retailers also offered discounts on the newly-launched Samsung Note8, packaged with the local telecom operators etisalat and du. Axiom Telecom tied up with telecom operator du for Samsung Note 8 and iPhone 7 Plus deals - offering up to Dh800 discounts on devices with 600 Flexi Minutes plus 300 minutes to preferred number with 18 GB Data as part of Smart Plan 250.
Khaleej Times, the UAE's first English and leading newspaper, has also put up a stall at the exhibition, offering the visitors a chance to win 20 Honor 9 smartphones during the eight-day show. Visitors just need to fill in the form to participate in the draw with winners to be announced everyday on the newspaper's social media platforms - Facebook and Twitter.
In addition, Videocon brand is offering non-resident Indians to purchase goods at Gitex and be delivered in India in 14 days at a 30 per cent cheaper rates than in India.
Retailers earlier told Khaleej Times that they were offering discounts up to 50-70 per cent on a range of products.

Nilesh Khalkho, CEO of Sharaf DG, sees premium convertible and gaming laptops with the latest range of Intel processors and smart home devices trending this year.
"There are some great offers on large panel TVs which we think will make consumers upgrade from their existing smaller size televisions. Of course, one of our most exciting promotions continues to be our BMW+TV bundle offer which we are repeating this year."
Taking place at Za'abeel Halls 3-6 in the Dubai World Trade Centre from September 23 to 30, Gitex Shopper and is open from 11am to 11pm every day. Tickets are priced at Dh30 for all days. Entry is free for children below the age of five. The organiser expects more than 200,000 to turn up during the 8-day exhibition.
