German kitchen brand sets up shop in UAE

DUBAI — Retailers, property developers and individuals can look forward to having a greater choice of kitchens in their new apartments and villas with the entry of a new kitchen design maker in the UAE. SieMatic, which built the world's first fully fitted kitchens and is one of the leading international kitchen brand names, has opened a showroom in Jebel Ali Free Zone.

The kitchen brand has partnered with one of the UAE-based the Palmon Group, a multi-portfolio company, Palmon Group, to bring its award-winning line of kitchen designs, to the region. As a result of the new development, the company now has presence in over 55 countries, with plans to further consolidate its penetration in the GCC market in the coming months.

Chairman of the Dubai-based Palmon Group, Manohar Lahori, said: "Kitchens are fast acquiring attention from developers across the globe and in the UAE especially, builders are faced with the challenge of designing a kitchen that is resilient to the region's weather conditions and maintain their attraction through the years."

Chairman of Dubai Ports, Customs & Free Zone Corporation, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem who opened the showroom said that "a growing number of companies have chosen to open or relocate facilities in the free zone because Jafza provides a business environment free from red tape, zero duties and has a state-of-the-art facilities and support services."
