Geithner sees 2-3% growth realistic

DAVOS - US Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said on Friday he expects the US economy to grow between two and three per cent in 2012, unless the debt crisis in Europe widens or the Iranian crisis worsens.

“The conventional view on the US is now that, we’re growing between two and three percent,” Geithner told the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting of global decision-makers at the Swiss ski resort of Davos. “It’s a realistic outcome, as long as we see a little more progress in Europe and as long as we don’t see a lot of risk coming from Iran,” he said.
