The programme launched on August 18 was the first of its kind and each Aerodrome Operations Unit and Air Traffic Control (ATC) Unit at all the international airports within the UAE are being presented with a one- day workshop to demonstrate the newly introduced ROSI system, a release from GCAA said here on Sunday.

The workshops also aims at reaffirming responsibilities of each operational units in alerting and responding to civil aviation emergencies. They involve the introduction of advanced incident reporting modules to support the services of both Air Traffic Control and Aerodrome Operations.

The ROSI system is a state-of-the-art process that serves as the essential mechanism for the GCAA’s national centralised mandatory reporting scheme and underpins the development of acceptable levels of safety within the aviation industry.

The Road Show is being presented by GCAA team Michael Hayes, Brian Day and Michelle Soliman and will also be conducted at Dubai Airport, Dubai World, Abu Dhabi Airport, Al Bateen, Al Ain Airport, Sharjah Airport, Ras Al Khaimah Airport, and Fujairah Airport.—ramavarman@khaleejtimes.com
