Galfar Emirates awarded Dh240m Takreer contract

ABU DHABI — Galfar Emirates, part of a leading engineering and construction conglomerate in the Middle East, has been awarded an EPC contract valuing Dh240 million for the expansion of sea water intake facilities for Abu Dhabi Oil Refining Company (Takreer).

Galfar's scope of work involves Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) of Sea Water Intake Facility at Ruwais. The work involves installation of four new seawater pumps along with one filter skid for Borouge, one new seawater pump along with one filter skid for Ruwais Refinery, two additional hypo-chlorination packages, two new bar screens/travelling band screen, new hypo-chlorination building, modification to existing facilities, additional DCS, MV/LV panel extension, associated systems and tie-ins.

This is a fast track project to be completed in 18 months time, which will deliver water to new Borouge and refinery facilities.

Tebodin Middle East is the project management contractor for the project.

Galfar Emirates order book has now touched Dh650 million which include projects from various Oil and Gas companies viz. ADCO, GASCO, RAKGAS etc.
