The Galadari Colombo was given a thumbs up from the people as the People’s Hotel Brand of the Year for the second time running at the recently concluded SLIM (Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing) People’s Awards 2021. The uniqueness of the SLIM People’s Awards is the fact that it is awarded by the public which shows the popular choice of the Sri Lankan people.

This is the 15th successful running of the much-anticipated event conducted by SLIM in association with Nielsen which is globally renowned for its measurement and consumer insights.


The Galadari Colombo to this date remains synonymous as a brand that is people centric. The hotel’s secret to success and key strength has always been this.

Commenting on the recent achievement Kishu Gomes, former chairman of Sri Lanka Tourism stated: “Wow what an accolade, my heartfelt congratulations to all at Galadari, they richly deserve this. Competing head-on with the high investments taking place in the industry with regards to brand building, the Galadari Colombo has been successful to silently speak to the hearts of the people who look for the authentic touch. That’s your brand!”


The hospitality industry was one of the worst affected during these trying times, there-fore an achievement of this nature is truly outstanding under the present circumstances. This is also a reminder to all that no matter how challenging the environment may-be if you provide service with passion and dedication that is what will ultimately linger and remain in the hearts of the people. This kind of brand identity does not require huge monitory investments, it is what the guest feels and remembers as a quality experience that they will want to encounter many times over.
