First woman elected to IBPC governing board

DUBAI — The Indian Business and Professional Council (IBPC) has elected the first woman in the organisation's history to its governing board.

Ruby Celly was elected by members from 19 contestants to join the highest levels of the IBPC, Dubai, the only recognised representative organisation of Indian business and professionals in Dubai.

Celly brings a wealth of financial expertise to her new position, drawn from many years of working in the insurance industry. She is currently a financial planning consultant at Nexus, a leading insurance and financial services brokerage in the Middle East.

"I am proud to have been the first woman elected to the governing board of such a prestigious organisation and I shall do my best to help achieve the IBPC's important goal of strengthening India-UAE ties," said Celly.
