Director Ahmed Obaid Rashid said the department has contributed in solving complicated crimes such as the murder of a four-year-old boy in a mosque during Eid Al Adha.

The department team had succeeded in identifying the murderer’s fingerprints despite the fact that he had tried to remove them by spraying water all over the washroom where the boy was killed.

The team was also able to help in cracking thefts in eight villas.

Rashid said that the department has five main sections that deal with fingerprint matching and checking, checking on unidentified bodies and saving the fingerprints in the database. —
