The uae has the ability to attract the best from global markets, and what better example can it set when it opened the doors for the Vulcano Titanium, the car priced at over 2 million euros (Dh8.65 million) at Dubai International Motor Show 2017.
The Vulcano Titanium is the masterpiece of Italian design house Icona Group. Paolo Forneris, CEO of Icona and owner of Icona shareholder Cecomp, said: "Icona presents the Vulcano Titanium, a unique one off car handmade of titanium. This car is inspired by the Blackbird fighter jet, the fastest aeroplane and we saw that car enthusiasts from the Middle East appreciate it a lot. The unique piece comes at a price of over ?2 million and we are here to show the capabilities of Icona and its shareholder Cecomp to design and create special cars, tailor-made upon customers' wishes. In these cases, of course prices are to be defined on an individual basis and are confidential."
Forneris further added that Icona was born in 2010, and this year the company has made a debut at the motorshow. "As Cecomp, we have a long and successful track of car customisation in this region, including armouring and special fittings. We [are] witness[ing] a constant growth of the luxury car culture, which is good for niche car manufacturers. The return for the Vulcano Titanium at the show was tremendous, which means that the appreciation for a certain design language is understood beyond the awareness of brand. This bodes well for a newcomer like Icona in the UAE market."
The high-tech interior of Vulcano Titanium features fully-adjustable leather bucket seats for a race-inspired feel. The interior design is driver oriented, with air vents and large touchscreen all oriented to face the driver. Functions such as GPS navigation, radio, and car diagnostics are all integrated into the central touchscreen.
The Vulcano Titanium's interior is made principally from carbon fibre, leather and black alcantara. The seats are designed by Sabelt, of Torino, Italy, a leader in the development and manufacture of original equipment car seats, seat belts and motorsport products. The interior trim is made using the best Alcantara and leather from Poltrona Frau. The workmanship comes from Aras, a company that works only for the most demanding customers of rare cars and are able to combine the most high-tech machine work with traditional hand skills.
