The aggressive new strategies being mapped out by the Centre is in line with new vision of the emirate of Sharjah to emerge as the strategic destination for trade and tourism. "Expo Centre Sharjah is poised for a dramatic transformation, driven by innovation and new ideas. A number of measures have been set in motion to make Expo Centre Sharjah one of the region's leading venues for exhibitions and trade fairs," Expo centre said in a press statesment.The board yesterday evaluated the activities organised by the centre so far and also discussed the events lined up for the rest of this year.
Mubarak Balaswad, director general of Expo Centre Sharjah, highlighted the need to put in place a comprehensive and strategic plan, with specific targets for the short term and long term."The strategy document outlining the concrete plans of Expo Centre Sharjah would be ready in mid-October. Expo Centre Sharjah has taken a strategic new direction, inspired by a new vision and global practices in trade fair management. We have set in motion a series of measures to take Expo Centre Sharjah to a new level of professionalism and sophistication. These measures include review of organisational structure, financial management, sales and marketing strategies and staff training." Balaswad said.
The growth plans of Expo Centre Sharjah include conceptualising and executing new trade events by networking with different countries on a continuous basis. "We are also working on developing new services, apart from exhibitions, and details of these services would be announced in due course.
Expo Centre Sharjah has excellent infrastructure that can be leveraged for launching new services," added Balaswad.
The forthcoming events at the Expo Centre this month include a seminar on BuyUSA.com, the online portal of the US Department of Commerce on September 10; the Indonesian Exhibition from September 16 - 20; Thailand Exhibition from September 27 - 30 and Al Hida'a Exhibition from September 27 - 30.
