These solutions were unveiled for both retail and enterprise resource planning, or ERP, businesses that focus on business intelligence, mobile technology, loss prevention and innovative management.

These announcements were made at the company’s 18th annual customer conference — Epicor’s Global User Conference, which was concluded on October 13. An exhibition was also part of the event that was participated by over 400 exhibitors.

The US-based IT company, which is listed on the New York Stock Exchange, introduced Smarter Business Intelligence Initiative, latest application for Epicor Mobile Empowering Sales People, new Enterprise 2.0 Strategy, and Retail Loss Prevention Services.

“Epicor continues to be a leading strategic Microsoft partner, delivering innovative business applications leveraging Microsoft technologies and platforms,” said Microsoft Director Senior Director Bob Maher.

Epicor’s Smarter Business Intelligence Initiative provides end-to-end Enterprise Performance Management Suite and it is designed to help organisations gain better business insights, stay focused on the bigger business picture, and make smarter business decisions.

“The development Epicor is doing around advanced, predictive analytics that will utilise SQL Server PowerPivot and the Windows Azure platform will help transform the way business users utilise the abundance of data inside their ERP systems, with the ability to model and analyse information rapidly for greater business insight,” Maher said.

Epicor also unveiled latest application for Epicor Mobile Empowering Sales People to meet customer requirements faster and in the field. It connects field users to real-time inventory levels, accurate pricing and customer data; assists with deeper business relationships through Immediate action on customer opportunities anywhere.

“Epicor Mobile Sales Assistant is an exciting new addition to the Epicor Mobile product line,” said James Norwood, Epicor’s Senior Vice-President for Worldwide Product Marketing.

Epicor Mobile Sales Assistant is a comprehensive enterprise mobility solution that provides complete sales and fulfillment workflow processes, further aligning mobile devices with business operations to achieve greater productivity and customer satisfaction in the field.

Norwood said mobile devices are continuing to trend up as companies are viewing enterprise mobility solutions as a viable means to maximise field staff productivity and increase customer satisfaction.

“Epicor Mobile Sales Assistant joins Epicor Mobile Field Service as a true extension of the enterprise that synchronises seamlessly with Epicor ERP ensuring sales and service opportunities are not lost to travel and customer needs are taken care of on-the-spot,” he said.

Epicor’s new Enterprise 2.0 Strategy to enrich ERP with a practical social voice. Building on Microsoft SharePoint 2010, Epicor plans to deliver the most productive, relevant and manageable engagement platform; helping businesses to collaborate, innovate, and differentiate.

Epicor will help businesses increasingly focused on effective organisation-wide execution to drive growth through innovation with the combination of Epicor 9 next-generation ERP applications and Microsoft SharePoint 2010.

“Epicor truly understands the value of productivity and we are thrilled that they have chosen SharePoint 2010 to extend the capabilities of today’s information workers who increasingly need to be able to complete day-to-day tasks based on access to relevant and timely information from anywhere and from any device,” said Eric Swift, General Manager of Microsoft’s SharePoint.

The company also introduced Retail Loss Prevention Services. Leveraging best practices and proven methodology, Epicor loss prevention experts help retailers battle against shrink and drive down the cost of loss prevention.

“In a down economy where top-line revenues are tough to come by, retailers can improve their bottom line through Loss Prevention,” said Randy Tofteland, Epicor’s Executive Vice-President for Retail Software.

“Last year, Epicor introduced CRM Services to help retailers transform and strengthen their CRM programs; we identified a similar need among our Loss Prevention customers as internal departments needed a dedicated team experienced with improving operation security, protecting assets, and driving down the cost of Loss Prevention functions across the store,” Tofteland said.

Epicor bolstered flagship Retail Store Suite, adding new features, improved scalability and flexibility. Benefits include enhanced customer shopping experience, improved store productivity and transaction security, and support for key business initiatives such as virtualisation.
