The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure has announced a reduction of 24 per cent in the price of home-use liquid gas cylinders.
Suhail Mohamed Faraj Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy, said that the decision aims to increase the happiness of community members, improve the quality of life and support them, according to a statement tweeted on Tuesday.
According to the ministry, the new prices will improve the lives of consumers, achieve competitiveness in the local markets, prevent any risks regarding the prices or illegal profits by service providers and maintain supply of high-quality gas to houses.
The new prices will come into effect from October 1, 2020.

Sharjah News reported the following new prices:
- 11kg cylinder for Dh60
- 22kg cylinder for Dh115
