Emirates to start service to Calicut from July

The national airline of Ras Al Khaimah, Dubai-based Emirates Airline yesterday announced operation to Calicut airport in north Kerala from July 1.
The airline would be operating six flights a week in the Dubai-Calicut sector. Orhan Abbas, vice-president for India and Nepal, told reporters at Calicut yesterday that Emirates would offer top of the class facilities on the aircraft.
He announced introductory fares of Rs.7500 on the one way route and Rs.14, 995 on the two-way between July 1 and August 15 as an introductory offer. Calicut is Emirate's third gateway in Kerala.
Abbas said that the airline, which operates daily service to Trivandrum and Cochin, was seeing excellent potential in Calicut in view of large number of people from the northern region living in UAE.
