The simultaneous launch of new Symmetrix DMX , CLARiiON CX, Celerra and Centera systems and software represent EMC's most extensive storage platforms launch in its history.

EMC continues to demonstrate its ability to do more with storage, enabling customers in the Middle East to reduce costs, and better protect and derive increasing value from their information throughout its entire lifecycle.

EMC is also encouraging business leaders across the region, to adopt the principals of Information Lifecycle Management (ILM), which involves getting the optimal management of information throughout its life, from creation and use to archiving and disposal.

Mohammed Amin, general manager, EMC Middle East, said: "The amount of information that organisations from Abu Dhabi to Cairo need to manage and access is immense and constantly growing. With ILM, companies can keep information productive throughout its life and respond promptly to sudden changes."

The announcements made yesterday, showcase the full breadth and depth of EMC's capabilities across the industry's widest range of storage platforms. They include, Symmetrix DMX systems equipped with the new DMX-2 technology which offers 30 per cent more performance than identically configured Symmetrix DMX systems using the current-generation directors.

CLARiiON CX , the entire new line of next-generation CLARiiON CX300, CX500 and CX700 systems, offers customers higher performance at the same price as previous models and new, affordable replication options while maintaining superior investment protection capabilities. Celerra NAS Gateways and Integrated Systems, expand the world's broadest NAS product family with new models and enhancements that capitalize on the industry trend towards gateway-based NAS deployments.

Celerra NS700 integrated NAS system leads the industry for integrated system price/performance, while enabling migration to a gateway configuration. New Centera platform enhancements also enable customers to benefit from up to five times the performance and double the data replication speeds over previous models.
