EIB grants Dh72m in loans to 5 industrial projects

ABU DHABI - The board of directors of the Emirates Industrial Bank (EIB), which met here yesterday, approved credit lines worth Dh72.7 million for five industrial projects in the country.

The loans and facilities have been approved for plastics, building materials, quarrying and metal industries.

The board meeting, which was chaired by Dr Mohammed Khalfan bin Kharbash, State Minister for Financial and Industrial Affairs, was held at the head office of the bank in Abu Dhabi.

According to Mohammed Abdulbaki, general manager, the board was also apprised of management approval of loans and financial facilities amounting to Dh10.8 million extended to another three industrial units manufacturing furniture and metal goods.

During the year 2004 till now, the bank approved loans amounting to Dh296.4 million to 28 industrial projects. Dr Kharbash said total loans sanctioned by the bank for this year is expected to reach Dh350 million.
