eCompany opens third data centre

DUBAI — eCompany, Etisalat's one-stop e-powerhouse business unit that provides Internet services and total ICT Solutions, yesterday announced the opening of its third data centre in Dubai in addition to the two existing ones in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

This will allow eCompany to expand the available infrastructure and space for a growing clientele of multinational and domestic customers looking for world class hosting and managed services .

With the increased demand for Hosting, Business Continuity and Managed Services, Etisalat has seen a 200 per cent growth in business over the last two years from its data centres.

The eHosting customer base of Etisalat is a diverse one and caters to multinationals, government bodies as well as local companies in various key sectors like insurance, retail, manufacturing, airlines, banks and financial institutions.

The new facility provides all the advantages of a world class hosting facility with advantages like high-speed Internet links, VPN Connectivity, multiple layers of network security, multi-layered physical security backed by biometric palm scans and surveillance, redundant power systems with back-up generators and UPSs and advanced HVAC systems provide optimal operating conditions. The facility is also designed to cater for disaster recovery requirements with redundancy being built in at all levels — equipment, network, electricity, connectivity and location.
