Dutch foreign trade minister to visit UAE

ABU DHABI —The Dutch Minister for Foreign Trade, Heemskerk will visit Abu Dhabi and Dubai this weekend to focus on renewing the political and economic relationship.

The minister is already on a week-long tour to the region which will take him to Qatar and Oman. According to sources, this tour is a follow up visit to the Dutch Prime Minister Balkenende's visit in November 2005. The minister will meet representatives from the respective governments and representatives from Dutch and foreign companies within the area. During his visit Heemskerk will have the opportunity to promote the Netherlands as a country with favourable conditions for business development. He will also meet leading investors and will discuss the Dutch companies' interests with his political counterparts.
