DUBAL achieves two million man-hours without loss time injury

DUBAI — Dubai Aluminium Company DUBAL, one of the largest producers of premium quality aluminium in the world, crossed yet another milestone in its impressive track record on safety by crossing two million man-hours work progress for the first time without 'lost time injury' during Potline 7B&9B expansion.

"Such an accomplishment was made due to careful planning and close monitoring of execution across various segments of the workforce with meticulous coordination. DUBAL was able to do this despite the fact that there were 4,000 workers from more than six contractors at very congested site," said Yusuf A. Bastaki, General Manager, Engineering, Expansion & Technology Development, DUBAL.

This achievement also falls in line with the DUBAL's strategic initiative to maintain the highest safety standards as approved by Shaikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance and Industry and Chairman of DUBAL.

Among the new initiatives, the senior management of DUBAL Expansion Projects team and SNC-Lavalin (Consultant) visit every week one individual contractor and meet workshop floor crew employees to emphasise the importance of safety.
