Dubai Chamber honoured the export performance of four companies for the months of May, June, July and August at an exclusive ceremony held at the chamber premises recently.

Hamad Buamim, Director General of Dubai Chamber indicated that the “SME Exporter of the Month” recognition has proved its success as an effective tool to inspire Dubai’s SMEs in their journey towards ongoing exceptional export and re-export performance.

Buamim presented the Certificates of Recognition and the SME Exporter of the Month trophy to FE Trade, Workz Logistics, Five Oceans General Trading and Express Flexi Pack for the respective months.

FE Trade received the recognition for May and Workz Logistics received it for the Month of June whereas Five Oceans General Trading and Express Flexi Pack received the recognition for the months of July and August respectively.

Buamim maintained that the SMEs which comprise around 98 per cent of Dubai’s companies play an integral role in the growth and development of the economy of the emirate which is regarded the world’s third largest re-export centre, reiterating the Chamber’s commitment to support the development of businesses in the export and re-export sector. The general managers of the recognised companies expressed their gratitude to Dubai Chamber for the distinguished support provided for their performance, pointing out that the recognition stimulates positive and healthy competition that will yield numerous benefits to the company’s performance and the overall business environment.

The SME Exporter of the Month was initiated in 2009 as the SME Exporter of the Quarter. Under this scheme, Mohsen Line General Trading, Integra International, and EnerPlastics were recognised in 2009. The initiative was renamed to SME Exporter of the Month in 2010, due to its success to encourage trading companies and is now set to recognise companies on a monthly basis. The first four companies to be recognised under the new monthly framework included Globistic General Trading, Al Nahda Trading, Tawazon Chemical Company and AquaChemie. “The SME Exporter of the Month initiative is in line with Dubai Chamber’s strategic objectives of creating a favourable business environment and supporting the development of businesses in Dubai. We at Dubai Chamber are committed to providing all the support for businesses to further the economic development of Dubai,” said Buamim.
