This ranking has been assessed by the UAE Electronics Group, an assembly of representatives from electronics brands, distributors and retail houses throughout the Emirates, says

Oasis Enterprises, exclusive distributors for JVC's entire audio-visual range, which includes, audio, video and flat-screen products.

Hisham Abdullah Al Shirawi, Oasis Enterprise's executive director, said in an interview, "Dubai's visionary cluster cities policy and targeted approach to tourism is driving the success. The emirate has also targeted tourism as a major contributor to its GDP, as its balance of trade is beginning to receive less income from oil production. The effect from this is an increase in the number of business and tourism related visitors to the emirate with a knock-on effect in retail spend." The UAE has also the benefits of its location and international airports, which is increasing its economic growth in the neighbouring countries. According to Yoshiki Matsushima, JVC's general manager sales, "JVC's focus has shifted toward the Middle East and Dubai's hub status has increased dramatically in the past five years. That's one of the reasons many multi-national companies have re-located to Dubai to set up regional offices and this resettlement brings expatriate workforces prepared to spend on electronics goods." The effect of tourism and tax-free status has made Dubai more popular than Singapore as a shoppers delight.
