Dubai all set to host 2011 IBA Conference

DUBAI - Dubai's delegation concluded its participation in the International Bar Association, or IBA, Conference, held in Vancouver recently, by promoting the emirate as the most fitting host city in the region for next year's annual global event.

Jointly participated in by four Dubai departments — including the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dubai International Financial Centre, Dubai Legal Affairs Department and Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing — and under the theme “Dubai 2011,” the emirate’s pavilion was situated in a prime location at the entrance to the exhibition hall and received an estimated 700 visitors every day with delegates showing a very positive response to next year’s IBA Conference being held in Dubai. The Dubai delegation was flooded with inquiries about the first IBA Annual Conference in the region in general and about the Emirate in particular as regards to visa availability, hotel facilities and the overall business culture prevailing in the city, known as the gateway to the region.

Dubai Chamber Director-General Hamad Buamim maintained that the Dubai delegation’s participation in the IBA Conference was extremely successful as it served the Chamber and its partners’ objectives to show the best of Dubai and to raise the profile of the emirate as an attractive world-class destination for hosting major global exhibitions, conferences and events and lay out the roadmap for the successful hosting of the annual bar association’s conference in Dubai next year.
