"We are still in talks with the regulator and Etisalat to get access to the existing national infrastructure so that all U.A.E. customers have a choice of two providers,'' du Chief Executive Officer Osman Sultan said in an interview in Shanghai yesterday.

Du, which said it had 46,000 fixed-line subscribers on Feb. 14, was given a licence in 2006 to compete with Etisalat. It

currently only has access to customers in some new residential developments and tax-free business parks.
